Geriatric Psychology involves the psychological assessment and treatment of health, neuropsychological, adjustment, mental and nervous disorders associated with senior years.

This may involve assessment and or treatment of memory and neuropsychological functions, competency, depression, anxiety, or adjustment difficulties.

  • Clinical Psychology Associates of North Central Florida, P.A. is proud to announce Shauna Springer, Ph.D., licensed psychologist has joined our practice.  Her specializations include marital, relationship and career adjustment issues.  Kay Hurlock, Ph.D. has also joined our practice as a psychology resident with experience in addictions, adult psychotherapy, and dual diagnosis.  They join Regina Melchor-Beaupre, Psy.D., psychology resident and Benjamin Phalin, Ph.D., psychology resident.

    Dr. Phalin's doctoral research at the University of Florida involved a longitudinal study of concussions in football players. His other research has involved epilepsy as well as languange and nonverbal higher cognitive processes.

    Dr. Phalin earned his doctorate from the University of Florida in Clinical Psychology with a minor area of concentration involving neuropsychology.

    Dr. Phalin's training in neuropsychology and the assessment of head injuries and dementia continued at the James A Haley Veteran's Administration Medical Center which included a rotation on the Defense and Veteran's Head Injury Program.

    In addition to his training in neuropsychology at U.F. he shares with Dr. Bordini forensic evaluation training experience at North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center.

    His publications and presentations have involved executive functions and the Wisconsing Card Sort Test, sports concussions, and recovery of function in concussion.

    Dr. Phalin brings his experience in neuropsychological assessment and treatment of memory disorders, head injuries and concussions to our staff. He is accepting new referrals for neuropsychological assessment.

  • Drs. Phalin is supervised by Ernest J. Bordini, Ph.D., Exec. Director, Licensed Psychologist.

    Dr. Bordini specializes in the interface of neuropsychology, psychology and the law. He has interests in civil and criminal neuropsychological evaluation.
